Our Herd

On August 28, 2005, Shady Creek Farm became an official alpaca farm with the purchase of our first two male alpacas.  Sebastian and Tango came to us from Lone Jack, Missouri.  Since then, we were thrilled to find the perfect female (Shannon) to kick off our huacaya breeding program with.  We've since purchased two additional females, both with female cria at side so growth is happening quickly!  The perfect Suri female was purchased (Lady Di) to kick off our new found love for the suri alpaca.  Lady Di is a daughter of Macgyver who has won Herdsire of the Year for 7 years straight!

In the spring of 2007, we made the decision to add to our Huacaya herd, the majestic and more rare Suri alpacas to our breeding program.  We are excited to see our herd grow with both types of alpacas on the farm.  Visitors really enjoy seeing and feeling both types.
